Project Overview

The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to improve the intersection of Poole Road (S.R 1007) at Grasshopper Road/Clifton Road (S.R. 2511) in the Town of Knightdale, Wake County.  This project will build an eastbound right turn lane on Poole Road and a northbound left turn lane on Grasshopper Road.

Project Highlights

The proposed improvements are expected to relieve congestion and improve safety at the intersection. New features will include turn lanes, increased turning radii to accommodate larger vehicles, drainage upgrades, new curb and gutter where necessary to minimize property and utility impacts, and signal modifications to accommodate the new intersection and lane configuration.

RESOURCES FOR PROPERTY OWNERS

Although the N.C. Department of Transportation works to minimize the number of homes and businesses displaced by a road project, it is inevitable, in many cases, that a certain amount of private property is needed.
