ACME was officially established on February 24, 2025 to strengthen Austin’s identity as a global hub for creativity.
Born from decades of community advocacy, ACME is dedicated to preserving Austin’s soul through music, art, and cultural expression.

ACME stands for Arts, Culture, Music & Entertainment. It is a City of Austin division that supports and celebrates Austin’s creative community. ACME brings together programs, cultural centers, music initiatives, special events, and public art efforts that serve people across the city.
ACME supports:
Cultural and Heritage Centers, like the Carver Museum, Mexican American Cultural Center, and Asian American Resource Center
Music and entertainment programs that help local artists and musicians
Special event permitting through the Austin Center for Events
Public art, history, and preservation projects
Creative sector support, including grants, partnerships, and training
ACME works to make arts and cultural programs easy to access for every Austinite.

The Creative Reset is an ACME program that looks at how the City supports artists, cultural groups, and communities. Its goal is to build a fair, inclusive, and sustainable cultural system by listening to community ideas and improving how the City invests in creative work.
Everyone in Austin is welcome to participate -- artists, students, families, creatives, cultural groups, neighbors, and visitors. ACME also focuses on supporting communities that have historically lacked access to arts and cultural resources.
ACME offers a variety of funding opportunities throughout the year to support artists, cultural organizations, musicians, and creative initiatives that reflect Austin’s diverse communities.
