Project Overview
The N. C. Department of Transportation is proposing safety improvements at the intersection of Rolesville Road (S.R. 1003) and Riley Hill Road (S.R. 2320) in Wake County. This project will realign Riley Hill Road to form a "T" shape intersection with Rolesville Road.
Project Highlights
The existing cross-section consists of a two-lane road with one lane in each direction forming a three-legged intersection.
Proposed Improvements:
- Riley Hill Road: Two 12-foot travel lanes in each direction, a 4-foot-wide paved median, and 5-foot shoulders with a 6-foot-wide grassy area on both sides
- Rolesville Road: Two 11-foot travel lanes in each direction with a 12-foot-wide center left turn lane, and 5-foot shoulders with a 6-foot-wide grassy area on both sides

Resources for Property Owners
Although the N.C. Department of Transportation works to minimize the number of homes and businesses displaced by a road
project, it is inevitable, in many cases, that a certain amount of private property is needed. The following information explains right
of way acquisition and answers questions about the process.
