Project Overview

The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to construct a bridge on New Hope Church Road (S.R. 2034) over the CSX S-line railroad.  This bridge will replace the existing at-grade crossing.

Project History

This project was studied under the Southeast High-Speed Rail (SEHSR) project. The initial environmental analysis is covered under the Federal Railroad Administration’s 2015 Final Environmental Impact Statement and 2017 Record of Decision. The NCDOT Rail Division is analyzing the changes thereof to the project design and any potential environmental impacts. A public meeting was held for this project in March 2017.

RESOURCES FOR PROPERTY OWNERS

Although the N.C. Department of Transportation works to minimize the number of homes and businesses displaced by a road project, it is inevitable, in many cases, that a certain amount of private property is needed.
