PROJECT DESCRIPTION
U-5881
Alternatives for upgrading N.C. 132 (College Road) from Gordon Road to New Centre Drive are being studied.
Improvements associated with this project include:
Additional thru and turn lanes
Interchanges at Kings Drive and Ringo Street Intersections
Minor modifications to College Road/Market Street interchange

Alternatives are also being studied at the N.C. 132 (College Road) and U.S. 74 (Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway) intersection.
Alternatives shown during the June 2018 public meeting are listed below. Alternative 1 was selected as the preferred alternative to carry forward in design.

Free-flow alternatives and interchanges from Gordon Road to south of Market Street
College Road would cross over Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway
Alternative 2:
Superstreet alternative and interchanges from Gordon Road to south of New Centre Drive
Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway would cross over College Road
PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT
The NCDOT project team will review all feedback – regardless of how it is submitted (online, phone, email, or letter) – and explore options to incorporate comments and address concerns where and when feasible.
PUBLIC MEETING
NCDOT held a public meeting on June 28, 2018 to present information on all six College Road projects. Staff were available to discuss the alternatives and answer questions.
